Mike’s Mercedes 2500

Michael Atzert is an important person to me for several reasons. He’s one of those customers who I’ve truly connected with, so it’s here that I’ll make the distinction between customer and friend, leaving behind the word customer. I suppose I was under the impression that getting to work on and ride bikes was the jobs’ biggest perk, but I’ve learned (as with any position) that the best parts surface through positive relationships. It’s not about what you’re doing, but who you get to do it with.
.
Mike was patient enough to see me through what was a challenging thrust into working on bicycles and it gave me the confidence to keep growing as a mechanic. Everybody needs those people in life and I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by a few really encouraging, patient & present human beings who choose to be at Bicycle Speed Shop. That being said, let’s take a look at Mike’s Mercedes Sprinter 2500.
.
Mike needed a mobile rig to house he and his Dogma F10, Mosaic MT-1, Mosaic GT-1, and revived 26″ Miyata. It’s equipped with a ventilated loft that sits above a roomy bicycle garage. The center of the van has two standard passenger seats, a mobile office, and plenty of overhead storage. It’s beautifully utilitarian and extremely modest; the Mercedes 2500 is the perfect machine to take Mike just about anywhere he’d like to ride.
